SSA regards co-curricular and extracurricular activities as an integral part of the total educational program. Character development in perserverance, time management, organization, leadership, and grit are developed through extracurriculuar programs. In addition to such related learning activities as retreat programs, field trips, activity periods, and assemblies, there are 26 organizations available to the SSA student.
Each organization elects officers to serve in leadership roles. These leaders are expected to exceed the minimum requirements of membership in the organization.
Along with a strong academic performance, employers and college admissions officers are placing increasing emphasis on the student’s co-curricular activities. All SSA students are encouraged to participate in the extracurricular offerings at the Academy.
